Polyurethane sculptor & Design innovator
In 2024, the Vitra Design Museum acquired an Aspirale, a lounge chair by Louis Durot, which has since been presented within its permanent collection alongside landmark seating designs of contemporary design history.
Conceived around 1970, following an initial model of 1968, the chair was first produced at Durgalith in Gennevilliers, France, and subsequently manufactured between 1985 and 1990. Executed in lacquered polyurethane, it measures approximately 68 × 80 × 70 cm.
